Word 2007 crash

Usually MS Word or any other MS Office application crashes, it is due to a loaded add-in that wants to make your life “happier”.

When MS Word 2007 begins to crash erratically, but most probably upon closing down or showing that the crash happened in mso.dll,
do the following:

Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe)
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
Delete it with all its properties

This will also erase the linkage to any Word Add-in you might have.

Andrei Neculau: The ticket is about a cancellation of service
Andrei Neculau: This is my 4th time I’m contacting you about it.
Andrei Neculau: Last time, on Friday, I was once again told: “somebody will contact you today!” yet nothing happened
Andrei Neculau: The cancellation form was both faxed and sent by email, but there was no acknowledgement of it so far, nor a money refund
B.K.: Please hold
B.K.: you will recieve a reply shortly - we will cancel the account, and you have no invoices that needs payment.
B.K.: Please ha patience and you will recieve a reply to this ticket today.

LATER UPDATE

And a couple of minutes later, I get this very innocent message, with no remark regarding the refund (not to mention the misspelling of my name, which so demeaning since I’m their customer):

Dear Anderi,

The cancellation fax has been received, so I have now marked your services as cancelled. I also double checked that the dns servers have been updated correctly, and they have.

That solution was CrystOne. I had a previous account with them, and while there were some hiccups, problems were solved or managed (went about). It’s a Swedish company, and look up to Swedes in general.

Romanian Diacritics

Diacritics make a language what it actually is.

Romanian has a handful (and I mean exactly 5) of diacritics. And because we have been put to the test in the 90s and adapted, nowadays we are very much accustomed to see text even without diacritics and we can still read it without major problems. The issue has a long story and doesn’t make the case of this article.

With time, diacritics and Romanian keyboards have made it to general consumers though and it has been imposed in public administration. We have seen the fights for that and the improvements in the way the Windows OS handles the Romanian diacritics, may it be Vista or fixes to versions prior to Vista.

Yet, there is one more issue that remains. And that is something related to globalization.
