My series plugin, that proved great so far, started to fail on me a bit after installing Wordpress 2.6, but this evening I found some fixes.

One of the bugs is that the administration menus don’t link correctly any longer.

Open orgSeries.php, and replace the function series_organize_options (line 156) with the following:

Cliché - The light at the end of the tunnel

This was my forth and my last year of Bachelor studies at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest. I think I’ll start sometime to recap the good and the bad parts, but for now let’s just let it slide ,)

It’s been quite a busy spring and summer..

Thank goodness I took a one month holiday in spring to Poland and Sweden. Otherwise it would have been a no holiday year with bachelor studies finishing mid-July and leaving Romanian mid-August.

But it’s all over now, both the Bachelor studies and the entrance to Master studies.

The result.. a nice GPA of 3.59 [out of 4] (3.62 if you take into consideration my Erasmus courses as well), a 9.6 [out of 10] final examination and a 10 degree thesis project.

My Bachelor Degree Paper

I’m publishing online my Bachelor Degree paper (thesis; ro. Lucrare de Licență).

Why? Several reasons. One of them is because I think it’s normal to publish your works. The others are all on a need-to-know basis

I’d say it’s not great, ’cause it’s not what I wanted in the first place (things needed prioritization), but even so it’s still a good paper and project.

I liked the analysis part, in terms of management and effort/outcome ratio, along with adjusting the project to the needs.

YouTube and Romanian TV

One year (and 11 days ago, to be exact) I filed a petition to the National Audiovisual Council of Romania, concerning TV channels doing one-question yes-or-no surveys during talk-shows and presented just the percentages in the end, but not the very low number of voters. And I got reply. Now I’m not saying I changed the world, but probably there were other complaints regarding the issue, and in time.. they started to follow the moral line. Or maybe I just didn’t watch so much TV ,)

Well, this summer was quite busy, so I can’t say that I watched that much TV other than for the pure “pleasure” of having something around that makes a bit of noise.

Repagination

Repagination is a little Firefox addon that enables you to load paginated entries on the same web page.

For instance, Google Search results. Or a forum’s topic. Or even better: FlickR streams!

You just right-click on a “Next” link, or on a numbered link, you will see Re-Pagination and choose an action from the submenu. As easy as that, and the page will automatically append the next pages.

The extension is not ready for Firefox 3, unless you hack it a bit.¹

Until the extension updates, here’s my hack Repagination for Firefox3.
You can also try antipagination (you will need a Mozilla Developer account because it is marked as experimental).

I’ll see if I can bring some improvements on the line, if time allows, but.. that’s not a top priority for me.

The extension wasn’t updated since 2006, and it looks quite dead ↩

Today, I bumped into a Romanian article entitled “Praise to real women”¹:

Femeile celor mai buni prieteni. Prietenele celor mai bune femei. Femeile-cele-mai-bune-prietene.

Femeile care se gândesc la futut la fel de mult ca şi noi, dar au decenţa să nu vorbească la fel de des şi de urât despre asta. Femeile care ne trimit cadouri, care ne-aşteaptă cu luminile stinse în maşina parcată la colţul străzii, care ne plătesc consumaţia, care ne întreţin, ne savurează şi apoi ne roagă să le uităm.

My Firefox3 Setup

I have switched to Firefox3 from Flock1!

I liked the social-browsing catchy title, but the reality is that Flock1, along with my plugins, turned into a “social-slowing”. One of the plugins, mine or Flock’s, managed to increase the memory usage by each page I visited reaching even 600 MB.

I managed to have almost all my old Flock1 (Firefox2) extensions:

Allianz-Țiriac provides insurance policies for all sorts of stuff for Romanians, but I was interested in a health insurance for my future studies in Sweden.

I will be staying there for 2 years, and it would be nice to cut potential health costs, since they could prove to be quite high in Sweden.

I could basically get two types of insurances: one is a basic travel insurance, while the other is an insurance for people working/studying abroad.

Differences between the two, as provided by Allianz-Țiriac:
