I think I should entitle this HP’s invent - killed AGAIN!

In the past months, the wired card stopped working, the DVD writer is stupid.. and also my battery is charging half way only.

For those that don’t know my dv6054ea got repaired one time last year in August whilst in Sweden, and another time this February in Poland. Both times, the motherboard was replaced altogether + others.

Yesterday I called in.. mainly to see what are my chances to get a replacement.

Why was I not surprised to bump into a guy that was following a stupid protocol, instead of thinking on his own? I was asked to go through the troubleshooting session with him, although I explained the situation from the beginning - I want to make a complaint of some sort.

Very nice orchestra concert organized yearly by KTH’s Academic Orchestra in the Valhallavägen campus,)

I recommend it to everyone. Pity it was too cold to stay until the end. Anja and I missed the fireworks as well, but it’s ok.. New Year’s eve has enough fireworks to last one year

Motto: It can only get better !

I got some hard reviews that the blog is sado-masoquist or crazily depressive, and I promised to changed that. At least in one of the entries.

Maybe I should have used another motto, by paraphrasing Rux - Writing shitty posts only when I can’t have a “beer” with my friends Though funny, it’s quite true. Some posts I consider very very useful and I try to have the constructive criticism included as well, but some (most?!) are just about criticism and astonishment.

For years, I’ve been in Uppsala, a week then, a week now.. It all looked nice and felt good.

Now, I’m a Stockholm resident, and you’ve seen what this place was like for the very first two weeks. It’s almost the same amount of Romanian shit, but in a different shape.

But on Wednesday I was back in Uppsala… oh boy! When you have nothing to compare with, you just tell yourself “This is it! It’s not like there’s something better..” and you just take it as it is. And it was almost like that until Wednesday. Let me phrase all this so that everyone understands.

So, yeah.. after clearing my head, and after moving all my previous posts to a new series called Induction at KTH Kista, I’m now trying to get a bit more perspective on the academic life.

This module (half of one regular semester) I’m doing has two courses for my programme - Processed for IT production + Enterprise computing and ERP systems. First one with Mira, a Finnish lady who traveled the world and seems very much open-minded and down to Earth, and the second one with Paul, a person that goes well under the “the IT researcher” category.

Both courses seem quite interesting so far, and they made me feel comfortable, which was really nice in order to balance things.

Posten

Today, I figured out once and for all my “issues” with Posten (Swedish Post Office).

So… things is like this.

1. You get to Sweden, you put your nametag on your mailbox.
2. The mailman comes one day and notices the new nametag.
3. Posten then registers you in their “system”.
4. Only afterwards, mail sent to you will actually reach you.
