…trying not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value. (Albert E.)
There has been a lot of suppositions around this topic.
Let’s put it like this: Sweden may put under-developed countries at its heart. It is their way of saying “We are helping” and they do actually help, since some students finish their education in Sweden, and then go back to their country and implement it there. They are “exporting” knowledge.
There might also be special groups, like they have in the USA for athletes.
But beyond this, the logic goes that there are no reserved seats per country or region at universities or departments. You are not competing with your co-nationals, but with the whole other international students. Therefore it makes no sense to collect application statuses from your co-nationals and compare. Not to mention, as I have written earlier you do not know if the internal rating (MR) goes on a points-scale (more is better) or on a top-scale (less is better).
The only “exception” to this is that, because the admission is divided between International (those who need a visa) and EU/EEA the places are divided in two. The reason behind the split is that the international students need to get admitted earlier in order to start their application for a visa. So the seats are reserved half for International (both nonEU and EU) and half for EU (both EU and just Swedes).
Merely a living soul;
mostly one that survives.
Often seeing the best in people;
surely one that dies trying.

@ Laura H.
Thanks! I’ll graduate in june too (hopefully :)) and i think it is pointless too also because we knew before to apply that we had to have our diploma before to start the master programme. What it confuses me is the date because the master I have applied for starts in august..
well, let’s wait yes, by the way, which is ur Master? is it ur first choice too?
good luck to u too!!

Many of us have misinterpreted LUMAS 999. It doesn’t mean that you are admitted it means you have been highly ranked and selection will take place among highly ranked candidates based on available place.
I had had chit chat with one official from Lund on behalf of this community and insisted her to give some clue about 999 MR. She told me that there are 110 highlt ranked people with 999 MR and available seats are 75. So they have to decide whom they will send admission letters and whom they will place on waiting list for 2nd round.
Same is for all other universities exceptional cases who have been admitted 100% have received SG=DA with 999 MR.
It should be cleared now.

Praying for all of us for good news on 8th May.

Hi all, I got MR 999 at Malardalen Uni. Hope things are gonna be ok.
BTW, does anyone know if we can refuse a higher Priority University for a lower one in case we are accepted to both?
For i.e, I choose Malardalen for my first priority and Lund for the second one, and I am accepted to both of them. Can I choose to study at Lund in stead of Malardalen?
Thanks

@ Andrei: From where did u got this information?
To which I add.. Selection Group DA always means Direct
Admission, which means you are a special case. It is yet not confirmed, but DA also gives you the possibility to have that alternative as a real choice. Meaning you might be accepted by Priority1 with a different SG, and you could have DA for Priority2. In that case you will be asked to choose between the two.
